VM Motori Engine Servicing, Sales, Spares & Repairs
VM Motori was founded in 1947. The Company is specialised in the design and production of high technology diesel engines for a variety of uses.
VM Motori's engines were initially targeted towards the industrial, agricultural and marine industries. It was the development of a new range of state of the art, turbocharged diesel engines in the mid-seventies that saw VM Motori start to make a name for itself in the automotive sector.
VM Motori has taken the experience gained in the field of automotive diesel engines, including the latest fuel injection systems, turbochargers and other components and applied it to the new direct and indirect injected engine series. The application of this new technology allows us to produce new industrial engines with better performance, lower emissions and improved durability/reliability, even under adverse load and environmental conditions.
An important characteristic of all industrial diesel engines is the ability to produce high torque at low engine speeds, as well as to develop high torque rise between rated engine speed and the peak torque speed.

The Birth of the Turbotronic Diesel Engine System
In 1990 VM Motori launched the Turbotronic engine featuring an electronically controlled injection system and EGR. This engine, widely considered to be the cleanest light duty diesel engine in the world, was notable for having produced best in class performance and emissions results.
Turbotronic's unequalled combination of performance, economy, emissions, noise control, cost effectiveness and quality, elements which have characterised the VM Motori product range over the years, attracted such well-known names as Chrysler, Ford, General Motors, Alfa Romeo and Rover. Many other important customers have adopted VM Motori's state of the art engines for a wide range of industrial, agricultural and marine applications.
Diesel Engines
The diesel car market is going through a period of unprecedented growth. All across Europe diesel car penetration is growing to record levels as drivers switch from conventional gasoline engines to vehicles fitted with a new generation of diesel engines.
The diesel engine has gone through something of a revolution. Long gone are the days of the slow, high capacity, normally aspirated engines which powered family cars fifteen years ago. Talk now is of diesel cars which qualify as performance cars in their own right. Each time a car is launched, scribes write that the diesel version is now the pick of the range.
Talk is of diesel engine penetration over 50% across the European market. A few years ago VM started to develop a new range of modular engines which substituted the previous range of two valves per cylinder indirect injection engines. The result is a range of four valves per cylinder engines fitted with the latest in common rail injection technology and which comply with all known emission regulations. Download brochure.
This family of engines was progressively upgraded (with the latest technology in components and fuel injection systems) and perfected (improved performance, quality and reliability) since its conception in 1977.
The engines had the inherent characteristics which epitomized the strong points of VM's design and manufacturing flexibility; whilst at the same time guaranteeing maximum reliability and robustness.
With the introduction of the common rail 4 valve/cylinder engines, during 2001, the production of this family of engines gradually ceased and today is no longer available.
VM has kept pace with the increased market demands (greater specific power, improved fuel economy and reduced exhaust emissions) by designing of a series of revolutionary engines that take advantage of leading edge technologies.
Combined with over 25 years experience in the automotive sector and the "lessons learned" from the previous 2 valve/cylinder engines, these engines have placed VM on a par with the most prestigious diesel engine manufacturers.
